University of Florida Scholarship Information:
Admitted freshmen who apply by the priority deadlines are eligible for a limited number of scholarships from the Admissions Office. There is no requirement for a separate application, and no new or updated information may be submitted for evaluation.
The same comprehensive methodology utilized in admissions decisions is also applied in the review process. Scholarships are given out according to your personal essay, leadership, extracurricular activities, GPA, and results on standardized tests. Given that our incoming freshman cohort consistently excels in every one of the aforementioned categories, scholarship selection is difficult!
Due to scholarship funding limitations and the lack of predetermined standards, students with comparable test results, grades, extracurricular involvement, and other factors may be selected for different scholarships. Roughly ten percent of admitted freshmen receive merit scholarships each year.
Students who are chosen for one of our merit-based scholarships will find out by mid-March through an email and status page update.
Students who are not awarded scholarships do not receive notifications from UF. It indicates that we were unable to give you a scholarship if you do not hear from us.
